René is a senior associate in the Corporate and Commercial Department of OAK LAW. She has extensive practical experience in the field of commercial law in South Africa.

Various corporate and commercial agreements including sale of assets agreements, sale of business agreements, sales of shares and claims and subscription of shares agreements, agreements to secure and further secure debt such as credit agreements, pledge agreements, lease agreements, joint ventures, service agreement.
Company structuring including the drafting of memoranda of incorporation and shareholders agreements in accordance with the Companies Act, No. 71 of 2008
René obtained her BCom, Law degree during 2006 and LLB degree during 2008 from the University of the Free State. She later completed Law School at the University of the Free State during 2009 and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa during 2010. During 2014 she obtained an advance certificate in corporate law from Unisa. She is a Member of the Legal Practice Council Gauteng Division and a member of the Golden Key International Honour’s Society.
After completing her studies in 2008, René accepted articles of clerkship with a well-known law firm based in Bloemfontein. After completing her articles, René took up a position in her hometown in the Northern Cape. During 2013 she moved to Pretoria and took up a position in a law firm based in Centurion where she gained her commercial law experience.
René enjoys baking, reading and occasional park runs. She also enjoys spending time in the outdoors and with family and friends.
